Pauke is a Finnish electronic music producer with a background as a DJ.

Pauke’s music is mostly progressive, deep and tech house with some tracks pushing borders towards techno. In addition to some distinctive sound design, you can also spot from his tracks subtle influences of 2000-2012 deep house, tech house and minimal techno. Some of his latest releases cover progressive house track Reflection on Kazal Records (2024), tech house groover Alppilaland on G-Mafia Records (2024) and deep house track Song for Sirens on LVLD Music (2025).

Pauke’s story with electronic music started when he saw the first time video of The Prodigy’s Everybody in the Place. He sold a good part of his metal and punk albums to build a proper collection of house, techno and trance records to be played in the first parties he was organising and playing in his hometown Oulu in northern Finland.

When moving from home he did what every proper electronic music enthusiast does: Spend the whole year’s student load on a pair of Technics SL1200 mk2 turntables, cheap mixer and few hundred vinyls. He played as a dj in house and drum’n’bass events before starting to spin house and techno regularly in clubs, bars and boats as well as some bigger events and festivals in Turku and Helsinki.

Few years passed, pandemic stroke and Pauke found himself at home studio with plenty of extra time. Not much to do but with experiences from playing from sunny chillout sessions to dark and sweaty dancefloors as well as memories of past travels to UK garage events in London, house parties in Ibiza and techno clubs of Berlin. Today you can still spot some of these influences in Pauke’s own music.

Does artist name Pauke mean something? In Finnish it means a loud banging noise. It is also German word for a kettledrum.
